Congratulations to all Flight Winners!
Looks like we are winding down this year with more rain than
golf. I think I will be slow to complain about the dry weather
next year. But the sun does appear and gets us out of the house
and on the course.
Congratulations to our new WGA Club Champion, Weety
Vickery! On day one she was walking on air after making a
hole-in-one on #17 (wouldn’t you know it wasn’t a “closest to
the pin” hole). She continued her good play on day two to become
our winner. We are so proud of you, Weety. And congratulations
to our other winners.
Many thanks to Jeannette Dougherty and Edna Scott for all
they did to make this a successful tournament with help from
Craig, Jeff and Chef Rick. We all enjoyed “breaking in” Craig.
Jeff decorated for us and Chef Rick provided us with a delicious
lunch.
September 30 was our last Playdaze event and golf balls and
prizes were awarded at our October meeting. Ringer Board
winners were Weety Vickery, Sun Scannell, and Marie Nebrig.
And continuing her reign as Playdaze Queen is Marie Negrig,
so she keeps her parking space for another year. You are a deserving
Queen, Marie. Congratulations, ladies. And thanks to
Donna Stephenson and Allison Jones for heading up this committee
this year.
Our next luncheon meeting is Friday, November 6, 11:30. The
new slate of officers for 2010 will be presented and voted on.
We want your participation.
Several of our lady golfers are traveling to Tuscaloosa to play
golf this week. Update forthcoming next month.
