GOLF COURSE RULES & REGULATIONS
The Board of Directors have reviewed
and revised the following rules governing the golfing activities at
Decatur Country Club. Members
are encouraged to report any violations to the
Golf Professional or any member of the Greens Committee.
DRESS CODE
1. All Golfers must wear proper golf
attire. Collarless shirts, cut-offs, blue jeans, tennis and gym shorts
are not considered proper attire.
2. Golfers must wear appropriate golf or spike
less shoes. The Golf Shop will be the final authority to the
appropriateness of spike less
shoes.
3. Lady Golfers - it is inappropriate to wear
tank tops, tee shirts, tube tops, strapless tops or short shorts.
4. Junior Golfers - Blue jeans and neat
tee shirts are acceptable for junior golfers under 12 years of age.
GUEST POLICY
A non-member golfer, except for tournaments,
is a guest of a member. The guest will be represented by the member and
will be the responsibility
of that member. The Golf Professional may
assume the responsibility of visiting country club members from
out-of-town
clubs.
Out-of-town guests are persons whose principal
place of residence is located in a county which is not contiguous to
Morgan County, Alabama.
These people are welcome at all times.
An in-town guest is a person living within
Morgan County or a county which is contiguous to Morgan County, Alabama.
The following
restrictions apply: In-town guests may play twice a
month. Play on Saturdays and holidays may begin only after 12:00 noon.
Play on
Sundays may begin only before 12:00 Noon. A member
is not limited to the number of guests he may have each month.
Any exceptions to this guest policy must be
approved by the Board of Directors. Definition of a House Guest is a
person from out-oftown
staying in a member's home. The fee is one-half of
the regular guest fee.
A prospective member may play the course one time
without charge and one time only.
*All guest, whether in-town or out-of-town, must
play in a group that contains at least one (1) Decatur Country Club
member. This policy
does not apply to reciprocal agreements with out of
town country clubs, either present or future, Decatur Country Club has
with other
clubs.
TEE TIMES
Tee times will operate on a daily basis.
Members may reserve tee times seven (7) days in advance in person or six
(6) days in advance by
telephone. Members may reserve only one tee time at a
time. Several tee times are blocked off for large groups of golfers
who regularly play together at a pre-set time. See Find A Group To Play With
for information about playing with these
groups. Wednesday mornings have tee times set aside for our lady
golfers on their playday.
Only threesomes, foursomes & fivesomes are to
tee off between 7:00-1:00 on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The Golf
Professional
may use his discretion. No groups greater than five
are allowed at anytime during the year. Junior golfers in High School or
less are not
to tee off on Saturday, Sunday or holidays until
1:30 p.m., unless accompanied by a Regular Member.
PRACTICE
Practice must be confined to PRACTICE areas
only.; This means Driving Range and Putting Green only.
All Guests must register in the Pro Shop before teeing
off.
All players must begin their round at the number one
(1) hole. Any play beginning at number ten (10) must be cleared by the
Pro-Shop.
Any players stopping between nines for lunch will lose
their turn to number ten (10) and will wait until the next available
opening before
they will be able to resume play.
The number of carts per
group is limited to the following:
(a) One cart per one to two riders
(b) Two carts per three or four riders
(c) Three carts per five riders
Cart operators must be licensed drivers.
The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for
closing the course to carts and the Golf Professional will enforce his
decision.
These rules are designed to enhance your golf at
Decatur Country Club. Please work with us in improving our golfing
activities.
