A message from the Golf Course Superintendent:
January was a very wet and cold month. Several inches of rain fell in one day and then the arctic blast hit with temperatures in the teens and single digits and the course had to be closed due to frozen greens. We are hoping that February will be a better month for golf. At this time of the year it is always a good idea to check with the Pro Shop to make sure the course is open and if there is a frost delay in effect.
We are still in the process of trimming trees, painting benches, and getting the ball washers in working condition. We are working on irrigation problems in several different areas of the golf course. We are also continuing to work on equipment, getting it ready for the up coming mowing season.
When the weather permits, please come out and play a round or two of golf. Please remember to fix divots, repair ball marks, and obey the cart signs to help keep our course in good playing condition.
One of our goals is ‘to get the course week-end ready’. The crew will be mowing greens, changing pins, picking up trash, and raking the bunkers, to have the greens ready for your week-end play.
